Mark Zauss, Online therapist, Double Board Certified
A Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician (NATC) is a mental health professional with specialized training in identifying, understanding, and treating the effects of narcissistic abuse. These clinicians have expertise in working with individuals who have experienced emotional, psychological, and sometimes physical abuse from narcissistic individuals, including partners, family members, or workplace relationships. NATCs use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

(CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Informed Care, and Attachment-Based Therapies
to help clients heal from gaslighting, manipulation, and coercive control. They focus on rebuilding self-esteem, setting healthy boundaries, and recovering from the trauma bond often associated with narcissistic abuse. In addition to providing individual therapy, NATCs may also offer group therapy, psychoeducation, and coaching to support survivors in regaining confidence, developing emotional resilience, and fostering healthy relationships. Their goal is to empower clients to recognize toxic patterns, heal from emotional wounds, and move forward with strength and clarity.

Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy Professional (C-DBT), is highly trained in the principles and application of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). This certification reflects his expertise in utilizing evidence-based DBT techniques to help individuals manage emotional dysregulation, reduce self-destructive behaviors, and improve interpersonal effectiveness. Mark specializes in teaching core DBT skills, including mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, tailoring these strategies to meet the unique needs of his clients. His compassionate and structured approach empowers individuals to build resilience, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and achieve greater emotional balance in their lives.

Mark’s advanced knowledge of psychopharmacology further distinguishes his practice. He is skilled in evaluating and supporting the use of medication as part of a comprehensive treatment plan, ensuring interventions are tailored to meet the behavioral and emotional needs of individuals with ASD while considering the specific effects of medications. Through his compassionate and holistic approach, Mark is dedicated to improving social, emotional, and functional outcomes for individuals with ASD and their families.

Positive Psychology: Mark also uses a highly effective therapeutic technique called positive psychology. According to Harvard Medical School, positive psychology has been proven to be a highly effective type of therapy. This approach encourages the building of inner strength and positive emotions rather than focusing on only negative symptoms. Positive psychology has been proven to be effective in re-framing negative thoughts and emotions to focusing on the positive aspects of your character. This helps you build your confidence, discover your inner strengths and empower you to make better decisions.
